How to get approved to sell on Walmart Marketplace and start selling on one of the largest online marketplaces.

Step 1: Prepare Your Business Information

Before you begin, make sure you have the following information ready:

  • Business Name and Address
  • Tax ID (TIN/EIN)
  • Bank Account Information
  • Primary Contact Information
  • Detailed Product Information

Step 2: Visit the Walmart Marketplace Application Page

1. Go to the Walmart Marketplace Application Page.

Step 3: Complete the Application Form

1. Fill out the application form with your business information

  • Create an account: Enter your name, legal business name, email, phone number, tax ID, and create a password.

2. Business Verification: Submit your business's tax identification number (TIN), legal business name, business address, contact information, yearly gross merchandise value, and your highest performing selling category.

3. Payment Information: Set up how you would like to be paid. Walmart has several trusted providers. Once you pick a provider enter your bank account details which will be used to receive future payments.

Step 4: Await Approval

1. Walmart will review your application. This process can take up to 3-5 business days. Keep an eye out for a phone call or email for any additional information they may need to approve you as a seller.

2. You will receive an email notification once your application is approved.

Step 5: Complete Your Profile

1. Log in to the Walmart Seller Center.

2. Complete your seller profile with additional details:

  • Shipping Information: Set up your shipping options, policies, and return methods that will work best for your business.

Step 6: List Your Products

1. Navigate to the Product Catalog dropdown and click on the "Items" section in the Seller Center dashboard and "Add Items".

2. You can now upload your entire catalog by using the Walmart Excel Template or you can add individual products to your catalog by searching the name of the product or by looking it up by the products ItemID.

3. Sell on an existing Walmart listing or create a new one.

Step 8: Applying for Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) Eligibility

To expand your capabilities as a Walmart seller, you can leverage Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) to manage storage, packing, shipping, and customer service. If you are familiar with Amazon FBA, WFS is the Walmart equivalent of FBA. Here's how you can apply for WFS eligibility:

  2. Order Fulfillment:
    • Once your items are in the WFS system, Walmart will handle picking, packing, and shipping your products to customers. They will also manage customer service and returns for these orders.
